We have an overwhelming amount of heroes who provide donations and/or lend their time to conduct fundraising events throughout the year. Below you will be seen more of our fundraising heroes who we are so thankful to have.


Thank you to our wonderful partners, Cobh Ramblers for their recent bucket collection, where they raised an amazing €437.50. We are extremely honored & grateful to have our names on their jerseys.

Thank you to Green Veldt for sponsoring the astroturf for our new outdoor play area for our Orange & Violet rooms. This wonderful new space has been enjoyed immensely by all the children.

A huge thank you to Craig, Timmy and Darren who ran the Cork City Marathon in June. The lads raised an outstanding €4,602 for club. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!

December 2020 Heroes Hall of Fame

We would like to acknowledge our little Hero, Harry O’Hanlon, his sister, Chloe, and his parents Martina and Rickie, and their amazing cycle campaign. Harry and his family did 3 miles each and raised over €30,000 for Sonas, Shine & Rainbow Club. Harry and his family have been part of our club for over four years. Thank you to his nana, grandad, all his aunties and uncles’ friends, and families who took part with Harry

We would like to give a huge thank you to Daniel, Colin, Kevin, Shay, Stods, Gary, Damien, and Stephen who took on the climb of Carruantoohill.

They raised €1,400 for us and we would like to thank them for being our superheroes

We would like to thank our siblings’ group from the Rainbow club for hosting a bake sale at the Cottage Cade on the 14th of December 2020. They were selling delicious treats in aid of our club. They raised €120 which was split between The Rainbow Club, Make a Wish, and St Vincent de Paul. Amazing job Olivia & Rebecca, we’re all so proud of you both!

We are thrilled to receive funds from RTE Comic Relief event to help us with our Wellness and Yoga programme. This was a great support! Thank you to everyone who donated on the night it is very much appreciated.

A huge thank you to our friends at CORK INTERNATIONAL HOTEL for all the amazing support they have given us throughout the year.

 

The fantastic efforts from everyone in raising €40,000 this year for us, allowed us to reopen bring families back safely, and offer places to waiting families. We wanted to also thank Carmel Lonergan, Aaron Mansworth, and Sandra Murphy for their support, ongoing help, and pitching in for Santa, Selection Boxes for children visiting Santa, and media support for us nationally throughout the year and when we needed help.

 

You are truly amazing selfless people we consider dear friends to Rainbow Club. Thank you so much!

A big thank you to Trevor Tools who have kindly Donated heaters for our Santa event in December 2020. We are so grateful to him for his support in helping us make magical memories for the families this Christmas.

2021 Heroes Hall of Fame

The Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism would like to thank Jim and Colin at CJM Used Furniture for donating €500 to The Rainbow Club.

The Cottage Community Café held a Christmas Raffle in aid of The Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism. We would like to thank everybody that has supported The Rainbow Club we are very grateful to have great community spirit around us

 

We can announce the amount that was raised was €512.50.

 

This is amazing and we thank everybody that supported the raffle. We are overwhelmed but the generosity especially with a difficult year that we all endured.

We would like to thank the Mahon Community Centre for doing some refreshing at the centre while it was closed to the public. Well done to Maurice McCarthy, Paul Phair, and Jon O Mahony who did loads of maintenance so that we will be fresh when restrictions lifted.

We would like to say a Huge Thank You to Oona O Shaughnessy, Catherine O Hara, Bernice Twomey, and Doreen Santry and all involved from Dyspraxia/DCD Association in raising €927.09 for The Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism.

 

Thank you so much for your generosity and helping support for our service with the year that we all endured. This is amazing and we thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

We would like to thank Rethink, who we began working with over the last few months after becoming one of the Awardees.

 

Throughout this journey, we have received amazing mentorship and professional expertise that has given us the ability to reach our potential and add our SLT service full time. Being an awardee has given us a platform we needed to position ourselves amongst strong organizations and Services. The training, advice, and workshops have all given us the confidence to grow, expand and improve ourselves further.

 

Thank you to Deidre Mortell and her team Margaret, Padraic, Jessica, Rebecca, Darragh, and the many more that help organizations like us to grow, get to a bigger and better standard, and giving us the skills to keep going. A big thank you to you all from us all here at Rainbow Club Cork.

Thank you to Jamie Kelly who fundraised and cycled 1000 kilometers in support of the Rainbow Club Cork.

Thank you to the lads from Parkview Celtic Football Club who committed to “The February Run for Autism”. They clocked up to 1000kms and have raised €1500 for The Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism. This is amazing and well done to everybody.

A big thank you to all our friends at Cork international Hotel who sent us 100 Eater Eggs for the children & Teens club.

 

We would also like to give a big thank you also to the customers & staff for donating €261.50 in our boxes pre Covid 19.

We would like to give a huge thank you to our hero, Keith Buckley, who ran 56 miles over 48hours.

Would like to Thank Elaine for giving us some of her cute Easter Bows from Alfie and me. Twinning bows. These can be bought at the Rainbow Club and Cottage Café and all profits will go to The Rainbow Club

A big thank you to Ciara from Telus International who has chosen the Rainbow Club as their charity partner and will support us in the coming year. We are delighted to welcome Ciara who did an amazing job in getting our Sensory garden ready for use. She brought gorgeous plants with Lots of lovely colours that have lifted the area for the groups to use daily. Thank you and we look forward to a busy time making wonderful things possible for our families!

The Rainbow club van has gotten an amazing uplift. What a finish it looks like a new van. This is one of our amazing advertising tools and can be seen around. It now also has a QR code at the back so you can scan it and it takes you directly to our new amazing website. All these little things matter to us allowing people to see our logo and learn about us. A huge thank you to the designer Mel at Madhouse who designed it & to Shane at Evo Signs who did an amazing job.

Happy World Autism Day to all our families, Friends & the Autism community. We celebrate and promote positivity every day here at Rainbow Club. Since 2011 as a Team we Raised vital funds for school units and to date, we have contributed over €120,000 in equipment to schools in Cork city & County. We raised Awareness and promoted Acceptance since 2011 visiting schools, working with Cork City Fire station, an Garda Siochana & we went into businesses encouraging inclusion in that time. Our biggest achievement was setting up the Rainbow club in 2015 giving families access to the many supports & services they were without. The rainbow club is a happy, vibrant and positive place where we embrace the whole family & provide a wraparound service for the child/ children, teen & young adult on their journey. We have grown at an extremely fast pace in our 6 years but continue to add and provide vital supports that are needed. Today we have 500 children, teens & young adults registered here with us. We have excelled all expectations in a positive way & we are recognized for the gap we fill for families in Cork City & county. Today we fly our flags proudly, welcome our children & their families with smiles & open arms & we share with the community the spirit of family and acceptance from here today

A huge thank you to the Companies & Businesses that helped support us to get our pilot GAMER CAFE started. We are hoping to grow and expand this further with the hope we can get more donations or funding towards it. Technology is part of the future & many of our children & young adults have amazing skills & interest in it. They will learn to build and develop games, coding, software building confidence in this area.

 

Our facilitator Dylan is one of our amazing Mentors and he has developed a fantastic suite of Workshops that will be available to families. We look forward to growing this & providing this workshop at Rainbow club.

Donncha O Connell on the 14th of August 2021 began his 100 miles run in the Connemara in aid of The Rainbow Club.

He had just 30 hours to complete the run. Thank you, Donncha for fundraising for our club.
